Write a 500- to 700-word summary of how you believe the MHA program, and what you expect to gain from it, benefits your current position and future growth within your organization. As part of this summary, identify the structural, behavioral, and intersectional (relationship) attributes of your current or most recent employer’s organization. Create a detailed systems thinking diagram that maps the stock, inflows, outflows, and feedback loops of your organization. Provide an explanation of your diagram within your summary.
Systems thinking in Healthcare environments
I would summarize systems thinking for a front-line worker as simple as possible. I am assuming that the front-line employee would consist of a front desk specialist so I am going to use them for my summary. For me, I am a visual person and I like to reference things as I go about my day-to-day functions. In saying that I would start with a handout that would consist of the way our particular organization works, and how important it is to provide patient centered care. On the front page it would have our mission and vision statement on the hand out.
My hand out would consist of all of the day-to-day functions with tips on how to discover patterns like a step-by-step guide. For an example, how to set up the computer systems to make the day easier for them and the patients. I would add tips for organizational skills, and problem solving. My handout will have tips on how to become more effective as well. For an example, to become more effective on how to check in patient by using the two-patient identifier to include identification and to verbally verify an address or telephone number on file.
It will also be explained that when working at the front desk things can change quickly, and sometimes providers schedules may have to be changed at times. This is when group thinking can be very important. Group thinking is each individual in a group gives their opinion on a situation and they are all in acceptance or come to a conclusion in a group. Hoping that it will work for them as a whole. In systems thinking the purpose is not to be right or wrong, but to come up with an effective way to do things easier.
Which is why when working at the front desk you will constantly have to build a strategy to handle day to day functions. If not, the consequences will outweigh the change, and that is not what we want. When working at the front desk you will have to have a great mindset. We have to constantly think about our surroundings and have to be clear about assumptions. We have to work together so we will not get burned out.
Asking questions should be encouraged in the workplace. For example, always ask, the who, when, where, why, and how questions. I noticed when I worked at the front desk that a of people was ashamed to ask questions. They were always thinking that the question was a dumb question and when it was asked it actually made our department better. Accepting responsibility is another big thing when working at the front desk.
Some people feel that accepting responsibility is like making them feel bad for a mistake and it is embarrassing, but if you don’t accept it we can’t fix the problem. The end of my hand out would say always be willing and open to learning new things, because you never be a master at healthcare.

A Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA) can be a great way to further ones career in the healthcare field. An MHA program will give an individual an in-depth understanding of healthcare administration and management, which can prepare them for roles such as hospital administrator, medical services manager, and more (Lich et al. 21). There are many different MHA programs available, so it is important to do comprehensive research before choosing one. One should make sure to find a program that is accredited by a reputable organization and offers courses that match their interests and career goals.
I believe that the MHA program will provide me with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a better leader within my organization. I am currently in a management position, and I hope to use what I learn in the MHA program to further my career growth and development. In particular, I am interested in courses such as financial management, epidemiology, and healthcare policy. These courses will help me understand the inner workings of our healthcare system and how to best manage resources within my organization. The Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree will provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead and manage health organizations. With a focus on health care finance, policy, marketing, and information systems, the MHA program will provide the ability to make strategic decisions that will improve organizational performance.
The program will also provide opportunities for practicum experiences in which one can apply the learning in a real-world setting. Through these experiences, I will be able to develop relationships with potential employers and build strong professional network. After completing the MHA program, I will be poised for career growth within my organization or another health-related field.
Behavioral: My employer is very proactive in terms of employee development and has a great mentorship program. They are also very open to change and are always looking for new ways to improve their operations. Structural: The company is structured in a way that promotes open communication and collaboration between different departments. This helps to ensure that everyone is working towards the same goal. Intersectional (relationship): The company has a very diverse workforce, which I believe helps them better understand and serve their customers. I also feel that it’s a great place to work because of the positive vibe it creates. People here genuinely care about each other and are always willing to help out when needed.
Systems Thinking Diagram
From the diagram, Stocks are components that a large variable represents (i.e., material, energy, and information). A stock may postpone, buffer, or absorb shocks for the system since it changes over time solely as a result of flows (i.e., inflows and/or outflows). Also, from the diagram, stock levels are constant in a stationary condition of the system and may fluctuate according to inflows and/or outflows.
The processes depict how stocks interact with one another and control the dynamics of the system. A flow may be altered by processes, either quantitatively or qualitatively, by the actions of one or more system components. Processes are positioned along the flow lines because the system state is made up of a collection of stock values and the only method to modify the value of a stock is to act on its inflows and outflows. Five reinforced feedbacks were found in the diagram. While the other four are connected to the idea of individualized nanomedicine, the first is shown by the growth of the TC as stated in section “The Flows.” Systems thinking in Healthcare environments.
In conclusion, systems thinking diagrams that map the stock, inflows, outflows, and feedback loops of an organization are important because they can help one understand how different elements of the system are related (Lich et al. 17). For example, by understanding how different departments or divisions are interconnected, one can better identify opportunities for synergy and improvement. Additionally, a well-constructed systems diagram can help one identify points in the system where intervention is necessary in order to achieve desired outcomes.
